
The Federal Government has fulfilled its pledge to provide housing infrastructure in the Novone Social Housing Estate, Ikot Ntuen, Uyo Local Government Area.
It was gathered that contractors handling access and internal roads, water and electricity projects have been mobilized to the site.
Speaking with journalists, the Principal Partner of Novone Consult Limited, an Estate Management Firm, Ezekiel Nya Etok, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari-led Administration for matching words with action and commencing the provision of Basic infrastructure at the area.
Etok disclosed that the Social Housing Estate is targeted at the middle-income earners, especially the civil servants in the whole of the South-South region.
He commended the Minister for Works, Housing and Power, Babatunde Fashola for his quick response towards the commencement of the projects after his official inspection of the site two months ago.
Etok reiterated his determination to deliver a Social Housing project that would set the template on Estate management in the country, adding these projects would be laced with the best facilities that suite the environment of Akwa-Ibom people, especially the civil servants.
While conducting journalists around the Novone Social Housing Estate located at Ikot Ntuen village, in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State, Etok explained that Road, power, water and landscaping reticulation have commenced in the Estate.
He noted that it is a Federal project with private partnership that is opened to every Nigerian, irrespective of creed, tribe, party affiliation or status.
Etok said issues of security have also been addressed as there would be a Central CCTV with night vision to cover the entire estate with twenty-four hours surveillance. He described it as the most secure estate ever conceived for positive Empowerment of the would-be owners.
He assured that completion of the first phase by November 1, 2018, is assured.
Etok also lauded Akwa Ibom State Government for donating the land and also charged Akwa Ibom residents to make haste and take advantage of the lofty housing scheme.
