A prominent community leader in Apapa area of Lagos, Babalola Shabi, has decried the harrowing experience being faced by motorist on the account of incessant gridlock in the area.

Shabi, who is the Asiwaju of Kirikiri Town, stated this, on Monday, in an interview with newsmen in Lagos.

He appealed to the Federal Government to urgently address gridlock in Apapa to save Lagos State residents from more hardship as it is really hampering business activities.

According to him, indiscriminate parking of container-carrying trucks in the area had become a huge risk given that most of the major roads are bad.

In his words:“Trailers have caused the untimely death of many people through fire outbreak and others things. It was God that saved me some days ago on this same expressway when a container wanted to fall on me. Many workers have lost their jobs here, because they could not get to their workplaces in time because of the gridlock.”
