Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED), has advised consumers to always investigate payment history of any building before moving into them.
PHED, in a statement, said it was imperative for consumers to make such investigations as it would prevent them from inheriting the burden of unnecessary debts that might be difficult to pay.
“Always endeavor to find out the payment history of any building you are moving into. This would reduce the chances of accumulating any unnecessary debts,” the statement says.
It will be recalled that electricity consumers across the country have been accusing Discoss of ripping them off as regard the issue of mouthwatering bills which sometimes include accumulated debts of former tenants.
