
The Nigeria Railways Corporation (NRC), said it had procured coaches meant for the Abuja-Kaduna train service.
In its statement, NRC disclosed that four out of the ten coaches being expected to complete the strategic rail line has arrived.
According to the NRC Abuja liaison officer, the remaining six coaches would arrive anytime soon.
Giving details of the coaches, he said that out of the ten coaches, six are economy, two executives and two baggage vans.
The NRC has also revealed that the coaches would be commissioned on January 15, 2018.
The managing Director of Nigeria Railway, Fidet Okhiria disclosed that when the new coaches are deployed; challenges of meeting passenger demands would be reduced drastically, adding that service would have one express train service and hourly train operations.
