Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has announced that customers who fail to upgrade their meters by November 24, 2024, will lose them. This warning was issued in a statement from the company on Friday.

The upgrade is necessary due to the Token Identifier (TID) rollover, which impacts all Standard Transfer Specification (STS) compliant prepaid meters worldwide.

MEDL is encouraging affected customers to recharge their prepaid meters to receive the three sets of 20-digit tokens required for the upgrade. Customers should enter the first 20 digits and press “enter,” then repeat the process for the second and third sets of 20 digits to complete the upgrade.

Any prepaid meter that is not upgraded by November 24, 2024, will no longer accept credit tokens, resulting in the loss of the meter for the customer.

It is important to note that there is no charge for the meter upgrade, and customers who have already completed the upgrade should disregard this notice.
