The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria has announced that it was briefly closing the runaway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja for 30 minutes.
The statement from FAAN reads, “This is to enable the Authority take safety precautions, as a private jet being operated by Nest Oil has just skidded off the Abuja runway,” a statement by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu, notifying passengers of the decision said.
“The aircraft lost its landing gear in the process but all hands are on deck to put the situation under control and normalcy would be restored within the hour,” it says.
