
Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has assured investors and residents of Ota which is one of the largest industrial hubs in the country of FG’s plans to fix the aging road infrastructure within the axis.
The pledge was made at the Ministerial Conference on West African Road Projects held in Cotonou, Republic of Benin.
The promise was sequel to an appeal directed at the Minister by the traditional ruler of Ota land, Adeyemi Obalanlege concerning the state of infrastructure at the industrial area.
The monarch who was a participant at the Ministerial Conference, told the Minister on the parlous state of almost all the roads in Ota, Igbesa-Agbara, Owode, Idi-Iroko axis, which is one of the axes where Government generates a very huge revenue in company tax.
The king complained about the hardship which people pass through as a result of dilapidated roads and general infrastructure, adding that losses suffered by investors and entrepreneurs in terms of man-hour loss, difficulties experienced in haulage of raw materials and finished goods, among other challenges, are critical ones that need urgent attention.of FG.
In his response, Fashola thanked the monarch for his effort in ensuring a better living condition for his people and smooth manufacturing operations for investors operating in that axis of Ogun State.
He added that his Ministry is considering a way of revamping old and aging road infrastructures across industrial hubs, including Ota, Igbesa-Agbara area.
According to him, the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is working around the clock to ensure an improved standard of living for Nigerians through the provision of needed infrastructures across the nation.
