
The federal government has reopened Osubi airport in Warri for daylight operations.
It would be recalled that the airport was closed in February 2020, due to issues involving aviation service providers and management of the airport,
Recall there house of representatives had recently called on urged the ministry of aviation to reopen Warri airport for full flight operations, after a motion moved by Oberuakpefe Afe, a lawmaker representing Okpe/Sapeie/vaie federal constituency
Hadi Sirika, minister of aviation on Monday, announced the reopening of the airport
He assured that all necessary procedures including COVID-19 protocol will be obeyed
“I have just approved the reopening of Osubi Airport Warri, for daylight operations in VFR conditions, subject to all procedures, practices and protocols, including COVID-19, strictly being observed. There will not be need for local approvals henceforth,” he said in a tweet.
