Tajudeen Ganiyu , the traditional head of Oke-Ogbere Community, in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government area of Lagos State has appealed to the government to complete the construction of Ago drainage system.
He said that doing so during this dry season would make life habitable for the community’s residents and the other communities in the area.
He said that many residents were always scared of moving freely around the drainage system during the raining season so as not to fall inside it.
Ganiyu thanked the government for the construction work done so far there.
He said, “The construction of the bridge that leads from the community to Isheri area as well as the drainage at Ago has helped to improve business and attract more people to the area.”
He also said that the Oke –Ogbere Community had recorded some achievements in the last five years of his assumption of office as its traditional head.
“My coronation as “baale’’ (traditional head) in 2013 gave me the opportunity to serve the people and improve on the existing infrastructure available there.
“ We have been able to increase the transformers from two units to six units. This has reduced the erratic power supply previously experienced there,’’ he said.
Ganiyu added that the periodic meeting between him, the community elders with the Okota Divisional Police Officers (DPO) and other security agencies had helped to entrench peaceful co-existence and security there.
“All these factors have helped to make Oke-Ogbere community safe, comfortable and profitable for business and residential purposes,” he said.
