for the lingering power outage being experienced in major parts of Rivers State, particularly Port Harcourt since Monday.
The distribution company in a statement said the community people in their large number last week stormed the 132/33kv Transmission Station located at Nzimiro Junction, Port Harcourt with fetish items and forced the operators on duty to switch off supply, thereby plunging some parts of Port Harcourt including Government House into darkness.
The statement signed by John Onyi, Manager, Corporate Communications, explained that the action of the community has led to the inability of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN), to supply power to Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company for eventual distribution to her valued customers in the affected areas.
The company spokesman regretted that the Ogbumnuabali community carried out similar action early last year when it was demanding for 24-hour power supply, employment, compensation, among others.
