Acting Managing Director, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Sule Abdulaziz has announced that the power company has procured spare parts to deal with the issue of system collapse in the national grid.
He stated that it was when he resumed as the MD of the power company that spare parts were bought for the grid.
He made this remark during a news conference in Abuja on issues related to the national grid.
He said: “When I came to this place we did not have spare parts. The first thing I did was to do an advert to ensure that all the parts we required are there. It is ongoing now. After doing that you will see we have the spare parts to maintain our system.”
Acccording to him, some of the challenges they are having are wheeling issues, valuation, approval from government and changes in prices.
He said: “Some of the things that do not allow project to move wheeling issues, valuation issues, approval from the government. The staff that supervising the project.”
Speaking on the last weekend system collapse, h that the system had been stable in the last six month, adding that TCN quickly fix the system collapse within 40 minutes.
He added that electricity system collapse happened happens every where in the world.
