
Former Governor of Imo state, Senator Rochas Okorocha has urged the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abdullahi Ata, to apply his wealth of experience in the sector by instigating housing revolution that will ensure ownership of affordable house by all Nigerians.
According to PM News, Senator Okorocha hailed Ata for his modest achievements so far in the Ministry.
Okorocha who spoke during a courtesy visit to the Minister in his office, also expressed optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is prepared in renewing the hope of Nigerians.
A Statement by Ata’s Aide, Seyi Olorunsola, indicated that Okorocha further lauded President Tinubu for appointing Ata as Minister, describing the appointment as, “well-deserved.”
Okorocha said the Minister’s, “approach to governance, rooted in grassroots empowerment, stands as a beacon for democratic consolidation and sustainable development.”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain further commended Ata’s political track record, highlighting the importance of community engagement in strengthening democratic institutions.
Okorocha, however, urged the Minister to deploy his expertise and influence in tackling the country’s housing deficit.
He stressed the need for deliberate policies and robust initiatives aimed at drastically reducing the shortfall in affordable housing, ensuring that Nigerians, particularly the underprivileged, have access to decent accommodation.
Senator Okorocha expressed confidence in the Minister’s ability to bring transformative change to the housing sector, given his vast experience and unwavering commitment to public service.
In his remarks, Ata extended his heartfelt gratitude to Okorocha for the visit and his kind words of encouragement.
He acknowledged Senator Okorocha’s immense contributions to Nigeria’s democracy, particularly his relentless efforts in promoting good governance and societal development.
